All four indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted gains in the first trading session after the long holidays. The SOFIX blue-chip index advanced by 6.51%, to 381.85 points, while the broader BG40 gained 3.22%, to 102.81 points. SOFIX was up by 10.47%, to 396.03 points in early trading.

SOFIX closed at a six-month high today, while BG40 advanced to a four-month high.

BG REIT (+1.85%, to 39.71 points) and BG TR30 (+5.66%, to 277.23 points) also ended today's session on positive territory. BSE's overal market capitalization exceeded 10 bln leva to reach 11.149 bln leva.

The overa turnover came to 1.73 mln leva on the day, while the value of the over-the-counter trades exceeded 244,000 leva as at 2:05 a.m. A total of 89 issues were traded on the day with 60 of the companies posting stock price gains.

Industrial Holding Bulgaria's stock appreciated by 4.50%, to 1.86 leva. The traded volume on the position came to 68,125 shares.

Stara Planina Hold and Synergon Holding advanced by 8.03% and 9.66%, to 1.75 leva and 2.10 leva per share, respectively.

Sopharma's stock price went up by 14.00%, to 2.85 leva per share. The company booked 9.481 mln leva net profit for the first quarter of the year, up by 45% year on year.

Most of the actively traded banks on BSE posted stock price gains today. KTB was the only decliner after the stock of the bank depreciated by 4.54%, to 62.05 leva per share. The traded volume on the position came to 76 shares.

The advances of other banks are as follows: CCB (+17%, to 1.48 leva), FIBank (+10.42%, to 2.66 leva) and BACB (+15.01%, to 13.00 leva).

Infrastructure companies also posted advances on the day. Holding Road's stock price went up by 6.92%, to 2.89 leva per share. Moststroy gained 7.05%, to 3.95 leva per share, while Trace Group Hold's stock appreciated by 15.51%, to 51.40 leva per share.

Chimimport advanced by nearly 10% to 2.53 leva per share. A total of 81,127 shares in the company traded hands on the day. Trade in the rights issued as part of the capital increase of the company will start tomorrow and will continue until May 20. The auction for the unused rights will be held on May 29, 2009, while the final date for the subscription of the new shares is set for June 12. Chimimport offers a new issue of 90 mln preferred shares with 2.22 leva issue value each.

Alcomet's stock appreciated by 12.54%, to 1.75 leva per share. The traded volume on the position came to 4,050 shares.

Eurohold Bulgaria's stock price jumped by more than 10%, to 1.50 leva per share. A total of 36,538 shares in the company changed hands on the day.

Medica was also among today's advancers. The stock of the company appreciated by 5.77%, to 1.65 leva per share. A total of 10,333 shares in the company were traded on the day.
