The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) shed 4.89% of its value during the last week.
This was the 15th week, out of the 20 weeks that followed SOFIX's all-time high of 1952.4 points recorded on October 15, in which the index ended with losses, data of the BSE and Profit.bg show.
The SOFIX has lost 30.15% of its value in the last five months alone.
The index registered its biggest decline in the week January 14-18, when it lost 10.24% on a weekly basis.
SOFIX managed to post weekly gains only in five of the past 20 weeks. The biggest gain was registered in the week November 24-30 when the index added nearly 7% to its value.
A change in the structure of three of the major BSE indexes, including SOFIX, will come into effect on March 13, as Profit.bg already wrote. The new blue chips will be Corporate Commercial Bank, First Investment Bank and Lead & Zinc Complex.
