The time for profit taking on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) has come as the SOFIX index has been rallying in the past week. The blue-chip index went up by nearly 6% after six consecutive daily gains.

BSE's all four index started Wednesday's session with declines but most of them managed to reverse their direction by the end of the day. SOFIX was the only decliner on the day slipping by 0.73% to 380.39 points. BG 40 advanced by 0.16% to 119.94 points. The other two indexes performed as follows: BG REIT (+0.20%, to 45.97 points) and BG TR 30 (+0.14%, to 321.64 points).

BSE's overall turnover came to 867,720 leva on the day. A total of 65 issues were traded on the day with 27 of the companies posting stock price gains.

Synergon Holding and Toplivo were in heavy demand on Wednesday. Synergon's stock appreciated by 6.25%, to 1.70 leva per share. Toplivo closed nearly 6.0% up to 4.1 leva per share. More than 48 000 shares in the company traded hands on the day.

Central Cooperative Bank's stock price dropped by 3.42% on the day to 1.27 leva per share. The traded volume on the position amounted to 91,652 shares.

Bulgarian-American Credit Bank was among today's gainers advancing by 0.15% to 9.995 leva per share.

First Investment Bank shed 3.0% to 2.52 leva per share on the day. A total of 10,600 shares in the bank were traded on the day.

Corporate Commercial Bank closed the day 1.56% up at 65.00 leva per share.
