Bulgaria's Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has terminated the tender procedures for 4th and 5th GSM operator due to the lack of submitted bids.

CRC invited on 23 October close-bid tenders for the issuing of licenses to candidates willing to provide mobile services with a nationwide coverage for a period of 10 years.

No offers by companies willing to participate in the public procurement procedure, however, were submitted until the expiration of the deadline.

The starting price for the first public contract stands at 57 mln leva, while for the second it is set at 38 mln leva.

This means that Mtel, Vivatel and Globol will remain the only mobile operators on the Bulgarian telecommunication market.
