The Charge d'Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje Angel Angelov handed a letter by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Rumiana Jeleva to her Macedonian counterpart Antonio Milososki in which she congratulates all Macedonian nationals on the lifting of visa requirements for travels to the EU Member States.

The visa waiver takes effect as of December 19.

Bulgaria was among the most ardent champions of the process of visa liberalization for the countries of the Western Balkans and hails its successful completion for the Republic of Macedonia, Jeleva says in the letter.

The Republic of Bulgaria is convinced that the possibility for free movement of Macedonian nationals would promote interpersonal contacts and will strengthen good neighbourly relations, reads the letter.
