At the July 5 parliamentary elections, 27.05 per cent of those who go to the polls will support GERB, 19.09 per cent will vote for Coalition for Bulgaria (CfB), and 12.14 per cent will back the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), shows a survey carried out by Barometer Info between June 29 and July 2 among 1,318 Bulgarians.
Ataka will receive the support of 8.98 per cent of voters, and the Blue Coalition of 8.34 per cent, the polling agency predicts. According to the survey, Leader will garner 6.83 per cent of the vote, Order, Lawfulness, Justice (OLJ) 6.57 per cent, and the National Movement for Surge and Stability (NMSS) 5.56 per cent. The Greens can count on the support of 1.14 per cent of those who go to the polls.
Some 50.08 per cent of respondents state their categorical intention to go to the polls in the parliamentary elections on Sunday. Another 9.94 per cent will rather go to the polls, while 11.68 per cent will rather not go. Some 28.30 per cent of respondents are certain that they will not vote on Sunday. Those who are certain to go to the polls are 4 per cent more than in the previous Barometer Info survey conducted between June 19 and 21.
Some 67.76 per cent of interviewees state that they will vote for the majoritarian candidate of the political force which they support. Some 8.34 per cent will back another majoritarian candidate. Another 18.46 per cent will not avail themselves of the opportunity to vote for a majoritarian candidate.
As polling day approaches, the mobilization for voting increases, Nikolai Nikolov of Barometer Info commented. He said the protest vote will not be expressed by non-voting; on the contrary, the discontented will go to the polls. The protest vote will not target a specific party, but it will be distributed among right and centre-right formations, Nikolov predicted.
He specified that MRF's score may be larger than predicted due to the specificity of its electorate and the votes which the party is expected to win among dual nationality people from Turkey.
There is a shift in the ranking of political entities, with Leader and OLJ outstripping the NMSS, Nikolov said. According to him, Leader and OLJ receive votes from those who intend to vote but hesitate which rightist or centre-right entity to support. Judging from the surprising result of the NMSS at the recent European elections, this party may cause a surprise one more time, he predicted.
