Forza Rossa, representing Ferrari in Romania, is going to deliver nine California units on the domestic market this year, almost 35% of the 25-unit quota the Italian carmaker has earmarked for Romania in 2009. "By midyear, we'll deliver nine Californias, and for 2010 we have a similar number of orders," stated Ioana Florescu, marketing manager of Forza Rossa.

Ferrari's first coupe-cabriolet has a starting price of 180,000 euros, and according to the carmaker 2,000 such units will be built per year. Production for the current year and part of next year has already been booked. California is equipped with a 4.3-litre engine developing 460 horsepower and reaching a maximum speed of 310 km/h. Forza Rossa in 2008 delivered 16 Ferrari models for customers in Romania, including a "One to one" 612 Scaglietti Ferrari, with a price of 225,000 euros. "We have already delivered 4 Ferrari models this year, and orders have not dropped. They have risen in line with deliveries and we have 48 orders.

We can say we have next year covered, as well," Florescu said. She explained the Italian carmaker had previously earmarked a 20-unit level for Romania in 2009, but subsequently raised the level to 25 units as orders increased. "We can see different intentions from the part of our customers during this period. Much more limited edition models have been ordered, such as 499 Scuderia Spider, or customers asked for new superior equipment, such as the new equipment for the 599 GTB Fiorano, presented in Geneva," Florescu said.
