A total of 14 investment intermediaries generated over 100 mln leva turnover each from deals sealed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in 2008, compared to 26 a year earlier, data of BSE and Profit.bg show.

Investbank and UniCredit Bulbank topped the ranking for 2008 with 884.9 mln leva and 715.19 mln leva turnover, respectively, followed by First Financial Brokerage House, which generated 375.2 mln leva turnover.

Eurobank EFG Bulgaria, Karoll and Real Finance also booked over 300 mln leva turnover each.

Other investment intermediaries with over 100 mln leva turnover include BenchMark Finance, Raiffeisenbank, Elana Trading, Euro-Finance, CCB, Capman, Sofia International Securities (SIS) and Fina-S.

Last year's top ranked Raiffeisenbank and EIBank occupy the number 8 and 25 spots, respectively.

BSE's overall trading turnover came to 2.903 bln leva in 2008. Over-the-counter deals accounted for 774.8 mln leva of the figure. BSE's overall turnover came to 9.945 bln leva a year earlier.
