Over 240,000 square meters of industrial and logistics space was added to the market by developers in 2007, some four times more year-on-year, according to data from real estate advisory company, Colliers International, Business Standard daily reports.
According to Colliers, at the end of 2007 industrial and logistics space exceeded 500,000 sqm. Logistics companies dominated the market.
The largest transaction on the Romanian market was made by Carrefour, which rented 45,000 sqm of industrial space. Colliers also indicated that Bucharest continues to be more attractive than other cities.
“It is more than obvious that Bucharest is a market of logistics operators due to a continuous increase in population, but also a high level of salaries compared to the rest of the country,” said Gabriel Chimisliu, Colliers International Manager.
